CoCa, the top Zerg on SlayerS is being knocked down to the B team, forced out of the SlayerS house, losing his Code S spot, and being temporarily banned from playing in the Korean Weekly pending a mandatory time and Cella’s permission to play again following an incident where he left a game against Byun in which he was way ahead just to force a game 3.

The chat (translated):

Byun: fuck fuck
Coca: Trap card!
Byun: I got dominated fuck
Coca: You have to put down a planetary. I have 3 expansions.
Byun: No it’s not that. Mutas
Byun: Leave fuck fuck fuck
Coca: I surrender
Byun: Let’s go to a third game
Coca: ok. gg
*Coca leaves game*

Many have called this “match-fixing” but others have pointed out that “match-fixing” involves premeditation much like the Savior incident during Brood War.

I think it was just a couple of younger players trying to put on a longer show. I doubt they fully realized at the time that it would have such drastic consequences. Was it right? No. Are the punishments justified? Totally. I think it’s better this way, they’ll learn quickly and never make the same mistake again. CoCa will get back into Code S no problem. He just needs to prove to Cella that he’s learned his lesson and is mature enough to not do it again. Also, the Korean Weekly deserves a round of applause for laying down the hammer and not being lenient. That’s a mistake I think too many tournaments make. I think GSL should’ve been more firm with Jinro during that incident to show that ALL the players should know ALL the rules before joining a tournament. CoCa, Byun, shame on you. Don’t do it again. ^_^ I still love you, CoCa!!!
